Does your phone support eSIM?
Short answer: yes, probably. Almost every phone sold from 2018 onwards has eSIM. Here's how to check yours — it takes ten seconds.
Check your own phone
iPhone
Go to Settings → General → About and scroll all the way down. If you see “Digital SIM” or an EID code below it, your phone supports eSIM.
Android
Dial *#06# in the phone app. If you see an EID number, your phone has eSIM.
You'll also find it under Settings → About phone → Status on most models.
Which models are covered
A rule of thumb per brand — the floor, not an exhaustive list. If your phone is newer than this, you're all but guaranteed to be covered.
Apple iPhone
iPhone XS / XR (2018) and everything newer — including the SE (2020) and later.
Some US-bought iPhone 14 models are eSIM-only (no physical SIM).
Samsung Galaxy
Galaxy S20 and newer, the entire Z Fold/Flip series, and the A series (A55/A54).
The Galaxy S20 FE and some regional variants lack eSIM.
Google Pixel
Pixel 3 (2018) and everything newer.
Pixel 3 sold in some regions lacks eSIM — check yours.
Other brands
Most OnePlus, Sony Xperia, Oppo, Motorola and Huawei phones from 2020 onwards.
This is where it varies most — the self-check above is the real answer.
Worth knowingYour phone must be unlocked (not tied to a single carrier), and the eSIM only works in the country or destination your package covers — it doesn't replace your home plan, which stays safely on your regular SIM.
